Laura Gray Fox, Counselor
MA, LMHC, NCC
I believe in the resilience of the human spirit and think that it is an act of courage and hope to engage in therapy. My style is light-hearted and I infuse humor and play into our sessions. I will help you seek out the resources in yourself so that you can move through your life in a way that feels right to you.
I work with people who are anxious, depressed, grieving or just need some more support and structure in their life. Maybe you have experienced trauma and need help getting to the other side of it. Maybe you are at a crossroads and are making changes in your life. Maybe you are stuck and don't know which way to go. Or maybe old beliefs and patterns of thinking and behaving just aren't working for you anymore and it's time to find a new way.
If you are you seeking more joy in your life and want to live more fully according to what truly matters to you, contact me for a 15-minute complimentary initial consultation.
My Journey
I began my practice as a Certified Counselor in 2018 and completed my Masters Degree in Counseling with a Specialization in Clinical Mental Health at Saybrook University in 2020. I am currently a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC - LH 61286117) in the state of Washington and am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I have worked with others in group therapy and currently see clients individually. I have done my own therapy work and I have seen, experienced and witnessed first-hand how therapy can change lives.

Individual Counseling Sessions
Working with you to get clear about what you want and need so that you can meet your goals - with support.
Using a wellness model, I focus on your inherent strengths and abilities. I integrate a variety of modalities from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (a type of cognitive behavioral therapy), Mindfulness, Voice Dialogue, Transactional Analysis, Somatic Transformation and Internal Family Systems (IFS) into our work together. My goal is to be a supportive presence for you as you gently, in your own time, uncover underlying issues and move through them so they don't define you.
EMDR
(Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing)
Evidence Based Trauma Treatment to help you get to the other side and access your resilience.
EMDR is a trauma treatment that has been shown to help people move through trauma. In these sessions we will first work on finding resources and inner strengths that help give you a foundation for this work. Using mindfulness, visualization and creative arts techniques we prepare you for the deeper aspects of trauma reprocessing that can help you to move through the hard stuff so that you can begin to live the life that feels right to you.
Somatic Transformation
Embodied Counseling listening to the wisdom of your body.
In Somatic Transformation work, we will let your body guide you in helping to process and heal your wounds. Similar to Somatic Experiencing, this work focusses on the here and now and what is showing up for you in the moment. Using embodied empathy and somatic awareness, I will work with you to process trauma, increase your innate vitality and help you with self-regulation. This work is informed by neuroscience, developmental theories and traditional wisdom practices.
